Plan of Work

To implement our Mission Statement with the following themes:

2007 Drug Free Lifestyles - "Be Free - Say NO!"

2008 Christian Values in the Home - "Be Free - Follow Christ!"

2009 Christian Values in the Community - "Freedom is a Choice!"

National Projects will focus on:

Youth Binge Drinking

Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)

Structure

The Board of National Directors is comprised of:

President, Retiring President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Director of Youth Work, Director of Children's Work, and the Director of Education. It shall also include, the President of each State Union, who may attend at her own expense and may vote.

The Executive is composed of:

National Directors (including Past President) to control and provide for the general interests of the work during the interim between National Conventions, to whom shall be added during the National Convention the past National Directors, the National Department Directors and associates and the editor of the White Ribbon Signal.

The National Convention is composed of:

The Executive; Senior State Vice-Presidents; State Corresponding and Recording Secretaries; State Treasurers; State Secretaries or Superintendents for Drug-Free Christian Youth & Drug Free Kids (Tarpeena's Club) or substitutes; Field Workers; one delegate at large from each affiliated State Union; and one delegate for every 100 financial members of affiliated State Unions.

When any member holds more than one State or National office which entitles her to vote in the National Convention, the state in which she is a member may appoint a substitute for each such additional State office.

A National Convention is held every three years. The next convention will be held in 2009 at the CWA Club in Adelaide, South Australia (May 27 - 31). Its theme will be: “Women as Culture Changers.” - How women have changed cultures.
